First Italians, now nutritionists! Read the article in Great Britain's The Guardian My question to you: a movement toward healthy food or just a marketing ploy?
I am no expert on the nutrition facts of McDonald's menu items however, I do think this is a win-win marketing ploy for both McDonald's and Weight Watchers. Just look at how the situation gained fame! The idea was developed, some people are for it, some against, an article was written about it, it found its way to this blog, etc.! I do understand that McDonald's menu now includes items that are healthier than those of prior years and new "healthy" items all together. However, mcnuggets and the crispy chicken sandwich are still on the menu, maybe fried with healthier oil, but fried nonetheless. Weight watching includes portion control, does it not? In that case, why are larger than necessary portions still being offered at McDonald's? I am also aware that McDonald's has a "healthy" fruit and walnut salad. Oh, did I mention the walnuts are candied? I rest my case.
I think you can have healthy menu at Mcdonald's. Eating is all about your choices. There are salad, pie, fish burger and fruit salad. that has low calories than eating big Mac or double cheese burger. But, peopole tend to order fries together with soda. So they choose to be fat from those food anyway.
