  1. I believe the best food city is New Orleans. Cajon food is too delicious for the culinary world. Well maybe not too could but it is very delicious. But seafood gumbo is one of my favorite dishes.

  3. MS834595: One of the best food cities in America is New York City. The main reason for that is the amount of food that you can find there, and the variety of food you can find there. The city has so many different cultures represented in one compact place. You can get chinese food one place, then turn the corner and get Italian food or middle eastern food, or Indian food or many other cuisines that you can imagine. They also have every calss of cuisine from the hot dog stand on the street corner to the four star restaurant. New York City has it all.

  4. In my opinion, Washington D.C. is the best food city in the world because it has many varieties of restaurant such as burger joints, casual dining, fine dining, and international cuisine. Washington D.C. is home to many embassies that belongs to various countries. These embassies has brought their home cuisine and embraced others to open a restaurant that specialized in that cuisine.

  5. The best food city I would say is New York City because it is one of the most diverse places in the world and that opens up a diverse place to eat some of the best foods. With the many different types of diverse food in New York City this opens the door for a large amount of competition. So if everyone is in high competition the food that is produced has to be the best of the best.

  6. The best city in the world for food is New York City. The city brings more then just great food. Just walking down Times Square Garden, or past Rockefeller center is like dinner and a show. As Grant Achatz said "A great restaurant should stimulate all five senses."

  7. To me, the best food city is Tokyo. When the first Tokyo Michellin guide was published, the world suprised that numerous restaurants in Japan got stars. A high stardard of personal hygene, service manner would also influence this results. Since the country is composed with islands, they also can serve the fresh seafood which are the main ingredients in Japanese cuisine.

  8. Venice, Italy holds the key to my foodie heart. I was fortunate enough to live there for six months of my life and truly got to understand the food culture outside of its tourism-based leanings. Understanding Venice isn’t recognized globally for any sort of modern haute cuisine or elevated dining, it is certainly a secret city, where the best food is hidden in the form of an unassuming storefront or can only be reached by a boat that you’ll have to commandeer yourself. I was fortunate to become familiar with some local restaurant owners and purveyors during my stay there, and through the formation of these relationships, was able to truly experience what Venice had to offer in it’s most honest and local way. Simple but focused dishes of fresh seafood and produce were primarily the specialty, as well as a traditional Venetian food called cicchetti. Some of the best produce I have ever eaten in my entire life came from Sant’Erasmo, an island in the Venetian lagoon. For me, best food city has little to do with awards, and much to do with isolating a place where total immersion in its’ culture provides you with the rich reward of an intimate and delicious understanding of that very city.

  9. This is a generic answer, but New York would have to be the best food city. It has thousands of restaurants and so many different cuisines. Anything that is new in the business is happening in the city, and it's the best place to go and try new things. It's a melting pot of all the different cuisines and cultural experiences.

  10. In my opinion, of all the cities, New York City has the best food. Between the atmosphere and the food, the experience is always great. The pastrami sandwich at Katz's Deli is one of my favorites. I <3 New York

  11. I would have to say the best food city in the world would havebto be the steriotypical New York city. The food ranges from small cafes and bread shops, little bestros and hidden restaurants, to large scale high class dinning areas. Almost all cuisins are covered in this massive city, and most likely ever counrty in represented as well. NYC all the way.

  12. The best food city I ever visited was Paris. The cuisine there was so delicious and so different from American food. All the restaurants had a calming peaceful atmosphere. I had a delicious roasted duck while I was there which I rarely see in my hometown. I hope one day to return there and enjoy the cuisine.

The best food city is New York City. It not only has many Michelin restaurants which blow you away by the quality and by the precision of the food, but there is no other city I've seen that has such diversity. Diversity educates the public about food and makes people more open to different food choices. I've found that people in NYC are wiling to try different things more than people from another city.

  14. For me the best food city I have visited is San Francisco.

I have visited cities like New York, Paris and Bruges and the reason none of them is my best food city is not because I think they are inferior, but because I have not had the time and/or money to make a culinary trip to them.

So back to San Francisco, a city I've visited many times with my parents and therefor been able to eat at the better restaurants I think is the best food city because not only is there a huge number of delicious restaurants but also a lot of the produce is grown locally and used fresh every day. Another thing I love about San Francisco is it's great diversity in people, cuisines and dinning experiences. You can find from a classical french restaurant that serves it's food classically in a very old fashioned way to a funky modern dinner that creates new dishes with excentric ingredients and has an electric atmosphere and makes the dinning experience completely different that what we're used to.

  15. The best food city would be Tokyo for me. I went to this seafood market next to Tokyo and I found out that there is a best sushi place in Japan. I had to wait 4 hours to eat their sushi. The sushi was incredibly fresh and tasty. I had 11 pieces of sushi and that time was the only time that I felt something melting in my mouth. I don't think they have michelin stars yet but I bet this sushi place could compete to other michelin star places.

  16. In my personal opinion New York City is the best food city. It is a commercial center and contains a plethora of different cultures. You are able to find any cuisine if you know where to look.

  17. I’m not sure where it would stand The Huffinton Post or the top "food cities" based on the number of Michelin stars, but the place I have visited that I felt had a tremendous “food scene” with amazing restaurants is Portland Oregon. They have crazy amazing restaurants; they are very sustainable with local farm to table. It also has many places not of the norm, like voodoo donuts, one of my favorite bakeries ever.
